Poor service delivery at Masvingo general hospital

Ngonidzashe Chiyangwa
Patients at Masvingo general hospital are not happy about the way they are being treated by doctors who seem like they just value the funds they are getting from patients but take ages to attend them.
There is need for the government to act on the situation as many have suffered fro these developments . a lot of very critical patients are failing to be treated and end up vacating the hospital because of the poor service delivery.
Talking to a mob of patients that were awaiting treatment , they both were complaining about the issue  and only a few could testify the opposite about Masvingo General Hospital .
“I am a school child and have missed a lot with the days I have spent in this hospital  but no doctor have come to attend me , I also haven’t ate for more than three days now because the nurses just come in the morning and instruct me not to eat so that when the doctor comes I will be sent for surgery but I am now getting tired of waiting” echoed Henry Nyika  who was admitted in the male surg ward .
Someone from the angered patients commented that” oneday  I will impregnant one of these nurses and deny the pregnancy just to get back at them for the way rthey are treating us  , as if we are not paying the hospital bills “.
The story seemed difficult to grasp but all the  tuth surfaced when the reporter overhead some of the nurses discussing saying “ kana tobuda mupaper mocomplainer , idzi ndonyaya dzodikanwa ne mirror chaidzo .’’
Torwads hearing this , it was all clear that something sinister was up at this hospital .  “This is a complete go slow , today I will go home . My bill is increasing each day I stay in this hospital yetb the doctors won’t attend us because they are busy at their private surgeries.’’ Munenzwa said before making a mouth sound that signifies disgust .
A nurse who refused to be identified commented that , “ its not like they do not want to help you , but the doctors are few considering you are  28 in this ward alone yet we have more than 4 wards here . the doctor has now gave an order that we should stop admitting new patients so that he will be able to assist you so that you go home. ’’
This proved to be true that an order was given to stop patients from being admitted into the hospital as the reporter noticed a girl came in a wheel chair showing that she was critically6 ill but later to be turned down on admittion and left to go home during the night at about 2000hrs of 12 may 2015
Efforts to get the doctors side were fruitless since the doctor on call did not turn up at the hospital during the 48hrs stay of the journalist at the hospital .he also was not available t his private surgery
.
